Volunteers

MetroSport, the biggest UAS wellbeing and sports event in Finland, will be organized this year on September 18, 2024 in Helsinki Olympic Stadium. The event is organized by Student Union of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences METKA with various partners and volunteers. 

We are looking for volunteers for the event to help with many tasks e.g. logistics, first aid, security, information point, photography as well as referees in the tournaments. The work shifts will be placed approximately between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. depending on the tasks. 

As a volunteer, you will get a unique work experience from a big event and also get to know all kinds of operators from the sports and wellbeing field. All volunteers will also get a snack on the day of the event, a small gift as a reward and receive a voluntary work certificate.

1. Information point Assisting event visitors at the information point, guiding guests to the event points, distributing brochures or other material, taking care of the cleanliness of the desk and the surrounding area and final cleaning. Languages Finnish/English. 

2. Logistics & assisting event exhibitors Assisting in the construction and dismantling of the event area and various event points, assisting event exhibitors, transportation, final cleaning. 

3. Tournaments & refereeing Assisting referees and players in sports tournaments, taking care of the smooth running of the tournaments, assisting in the construction and dismantling of the event area and final cleaning. 

4. First aid Being on call at the first aid point and first aid operations at the event.  Note: A minimum of EA1
card or EA1 level competence from other training is required.

5. Security Taking care of the safety and order of the event, preventing disturbances in the area. Note: It is possible to apply for the position without a law enforcement card. We will provide volunteers with the necessary information about the event and the task.

6. Communications & media Photographing and video recording the event, interviews with visitors and partners, assisting with content production for social media. Note: knowledge of using a system camera and/or video recording equipment is desired.
